Youth Program
Mission: Inspire young singers to engage with local singing opportunities and reinvigorate youth interest in Barbershop within San Diego and beyond.
We have reached out to youth groups in various ways:
Additionally, we underwrote expenses for youth members of PCH so they could compete with us at the BHS International Competition in Cleveland, Ohio in July 2024, and will continue to assist with younger chorus members to attend other competitions.
Pacific Coast Harmony is privileged to have generous donors to our youth programs, enabling us to continue this effort for many years to come.

We have reached out to youth groups in various ways:
- Engaged with higher education a capella groups, inviting them to rehearsals and offering sponsorships,
- Our 2024 spring concert featured a UCSD a capella group in a paid guest performance, which was extremely well-received. Some members of the group have joined PCH.
- A traveling a capella group, Georgia Tech Chamber Choir, attended a Pacific Coast Harmony rehearsal which resulted in their members expressing interest in finding a group like PCH through the Barbershop Harmony Society after college. We sang songs for them, and they for us and with us, and they joined us for a social “Afterglow” following rehearsal, when they sang onstage at the venue’s open mic night.
- In-person outreach to local organizations that specialize in youth arts.
- Virtual outreach on Instagram.
- One of our quartets, comprised of youth members, performed at a local higher education spring show to showcase the barbershop harmony art form.
